We are delighted that the University of Reading Health & Life Science project won the “Innovation in Delivering Value” award at the Education Estates Awards 2021 in Manchester.

SB Labs UK worked closely with Stride Treglown and Balfour Beatty in delivering the laboratory furniture package for the scheme, including our Exemplaire C frame and Column systems, IPS working stations and Working Walls storage systems.

The project delivered purpose-built research and teaching facilities over four floors and incorporates the School of Biological Sciences, with state-of-the-art laboratories, designed to accommodate every discipline of the biological sciences.

A ‘superlab’ occupies the ground floor, being used for teaching undergraduates,  and can seat 280 students at once, in its largest configuration or smaller classes of 60-80, when required, as the space can be easily subdivided into several configurations.

The first-class facility will accommodate more than 17,000 students.

Watch the project flythrough rendering below.
