Diageo’s new Littleconnell Brewery in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, was officially opened by Taoiseach Micheál Martin in May 2026, alongside Diageo Chief Executive Sir Dave Lewis. The almost €300 million facility incorporates advanced brewing and process areas alongside specialist laboratory spaces, for which SB Labs manufactured and installed the laboratory furniture and fume cupboards.
Constructed on a 40-acre site, the brewery is powered by 100% renewable electricity and has been designed to significantly reduce energy and water consumption. Its design is expected to avoid up to 15,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually compared with a similar-scale facility.

Designed by RKD Architects and delivered by Walls Construction, the brewery represents a significant investment in Diageo’s brewing operations in Ireland.
The Littleconnell Brewery will produce a range of ales and lagers, including Rockshore, Harp, Smithwick’s and Kilkenny, alongside licensed brands including Carlsberg, supplying both Irish and international markets.
For the specialist laboratory spaces, SB Labs manufactured and installed Exemplaire C-frame laboratory benches with mobile storage, tall storage units and Ecoline fume cupboards as part of the wider brewery development.
The project further strengthens SB Labs’ presence in Ireland, where the company has delivered laboratory environments across education, research and industry, and demonstrates its experience in providing specialist laboratory furniture and fume cupboard solutions for the Industry sector.
