Environmental Policy Statement

1. About this policy

1.1 We recognise our responsibility to prevent pollution in all parts of our operations, safeguard the environment and take positive steps to minimise the environmental impacts of our operations.

1.2 We aim to comply with applicable legislation, regulations and industry codes of practice, and seek to implement good practice.

2. Aims

2.1 To operate an environmental management system (EMS) throughout the organisation.

2.2 To use energy and water efficiently and optimise our use of natural resources. To minimise the volume of waste deposited in landfill by re-using and recycling materials wherever possible.

2.3 To encourage modes of transport, which minimise environmental impact, ensure that our staff are aware of efficient driving and examine the operation of our vehicles.

2.4 To ensure that our staff are aware of relevant environmental issues, and of their own roles and responsibilities in delivering the overall programme and providing training for those with particular responsibilities.

2.5 To ensure that our key suppliers and contractors are aware of our policy and that wherever possible, they operate to similar standards, as a minimum.

2.6 To continue to provide support for sustainability initiatives that contribute towards the preservation or enhancement of the quality of life in the communities in which we operate.

2.7 To regularly monitor, audit and review our environmental program to ensure continuous improvement, and identify examples of best practice that may be shared throughout the Company.

3. Responsibilities

3.1 We will ensure that resources are available to enable us to achieve our objectives and targets.

3.2 The Managing Director is responsible for our environmental performance and implementation of this policy.

3.3 All employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.
