Lacordaire Academy USA

Lacordaire Academy is an independent Catholic Dominican day school in Upper Montclair, NJ, offering education from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. The school emphasises STEM through an engaging, hands-on curriculum and inquiry-based learning, ensuring every student benefits from this exploratory approach.

To enhance their already thriving STEM program, Lacordaire Academy decided to upgrade their labs, recognising that modern facilities would pave the way for an even brighter future in STEM education.

The result is three state-of-the-art laboratories, designed and manufactured by SB Labs UK and installed by SB Labs USA. These labs feature high-quality STEMLine workstations, Crescent benches, Mobiline fume hoods, and a SpaceSaver teaching wall.

The STEMLine workstations are designed for flexibility and adaptability, catering to various learning activities and age groups, while promoting collaboration and group learning. The Crescent benches, with their curved design and integrated casework, maximise space efficiency. Equipped with power supplies, they support both group projects and individual study. Both the STEMLine and Crescent systems feature durable Velstone worktops, making them ideal for a wide range of subject lessons.

Additionally, wall cabinets and the SpaceSaver teaching wall further optimize lab space and workflow.

The inclusion of the Mobiline fume hood further reflects the hands-on learning approach, as these mobile units provide a safe environment for conducting experiments.
